Disk Usage Warning

Why did I received a Disk Usage Warning Email?

The Disk Usage Warning email notifies you that your alloted space on the web server is nearly used up. The message will indicate how nearly the disk usage is filled. When your disk usage reaches 100% your email and website will quit working. Your website will display an error message, and email sent to your address will bounce back to whoever sent it your way.

What to do about it?

Setup Auto-Archive

Usually disk usage is consumed primarily by your email. If your email account is setup as IMAP or with the POP setting "leave a copy of the message on the server" email resides on the mail server till deleted from your inbox, sent items, or deleted items. To free up disk space on the mail server you may want to archive mail to a local PST file on your computer. This keeps email accessible inside your mail client, but simply removes the messages from the mail server, freeing up disk space.

Upgrade Hosting Plan

If you want to keep mail on the mail server to enjoy the benefits of nightly off-site backups and the peace of mind in knowing that your email is safe you may need to consider upgrading your hosting plan. Contact us for more details or to upgrade.
